Universal Health Care in Ohio and beyond.
The current terminally ill health care system causes misery, even death, for countless citizens while it simultaneously and shamelessly creates enormous private wealth for those running it and ruining lives of others.
This is a moral outrage and social sin. Health care is a universal human right, not a commodity to be sold at a huge profit only to those who can afford it. Lange is a fervent supporter of publicly funded universal health care and has been so all his adult life. No one should profit from the misery of others. Time to drive out those who do.
45-day Vigil for Justice in Lordstown
GM Lordstown did not close without a bitter fight and solid show of persistent community-labor solidarity, like that daily vigil Lange held during winter 2019. That solidarity continued during the six week national UAW strike against GM when community residents, Lange included, joined the picket line to demand justice. This New York Times photo is part of an exhibit, The Last Cruze, which first appeared at the University of Chicago and is scheduled to open at the Wexner Center at Ohio State University in February 2020. Lange's article "Taking a Stand Against Corporate Cruelty" is included in its accompanying book. Union-busting and family-busting are disgusting. The struggle continues...
Toxic Injection Well Protest in Brookfield
Ohio, particularly that part near PA, has become a dumping ground for massive quantitates of fracked toxic waste from other states. Some 56 million gallons of toxic waste were forced over a 2-year period into an injection well in N. Lima alone. The 63rd Ohio District is dangerously polluted with several such injection wells operating in and/or proposed for Brookfield, Hubbard, Fowler, Weathersfield and Vienna. This poses a very serious and imminent potential threat to public health, safety, welfare and property values. Yet current legislators allow this threat to continue. Time for change.
